Marketers tend to think that their content is always great, by providing value in a fun, memorable way, speaking to their audience in a manner that they enjoy.
While it would be great if that were true, the sad reality is that if marketers aren’t careful, their content can do more harm than good. And since both paid and organic success on social media hinges on a high-quality content strategy, it’s important for brands to understand what their audience does and doesn’t want to see.
Adobe recently conducted a new study of 1,000 Indian consumers, which outlines what, specifically, annoys them most about content from brands.

- “Content that is not personalized or relevant to my situation” is ranked as the main annoying factor by surveyed Indian consumers about content from brands with a rate of 39%.
- “Content without video or images” is ranked as the second top reason that annoys surveyed Indian consumers about content from brands with a rate of 32%.
- “Content that is poorly written or designed” comes at next as an annoying factor by surveyed Indian consumers about content from brands with a rate of 31%.
- “Content is old or stolen” also listed as an annoying reason by surveyed Indian consumers about content from brands with a rate of 28%.
