US e-commerce has been growing rapidly, and it’s expected to reach $327 billion by 2016, after $202 billion in 2011. On the other hand, 44% of total retail sales, which equivalent $1,660 billion will be impacted by the web in 2016, with a rate of 9% CAGR from 2011 till 2016.
That means there’s a huge opportunity for marketers to capture new market share and a substantial risk of losing market share to retailers who can achieve effective strategies that address social, mobile and big data.
