Valentine’s Day is a significant spending holiday for shoppers worldwide. In the US, over half adults (54.7%) plan to celebrate Valentine’s day in 2018, which presents an excellent opportunity for businesses to earn additional revenue during this time of the year.

The total planned spending of these adults will reach $19.6 billion this year (2018) compared to $18.B in 2016. Jewelry is the most category that adults in US plan to spend their money for with a total of $4.7 billion, followed by an evening out or experiences with $3.7B, and then flowers with $2B.
