Job Responsibilities:

• Create new features on Yocket using web technologies and frameworks.
• Combine features and improvements that can support our large-and-growing user base.
• Assure reliability and security of the web application.
• Communicate to our mobile app developers and design how an API method should work.
• Participate in internal tools that help us manage our users and content.

Job Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of web programming languages like PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Demonstrated understanding of MVC and experience with at least one PHP framework (CakePHP, Laravel, CodeIgniter).
• Proficient experience with one more JavaScript libraries (React, Angular, Backbone…), CSS frameworks (Bootstrap, Semantic UI).
• Effective experience in web development projects and can provide code samples from them.
• Familiarity with version control software like Git.
• Deep knowledge of development on Linux / Ubuntu OS and familiar with the CLI.
• Demonstrated understanding of HTTP and TCP/IP and what a good API looks like.
• Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, internet security.
• Strong at writing understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability.
• Proven track record in Amazon Web Services is an added advantage.
• Sound communication skills.
• Curiosity about how things work and willingness to work in a startup environment.
