Job Responsibilities:

• Code with the team, participating in code reviews and ensuring we build the best product.
• Set a high standard for junior engineers to follow and support them in achieving this.
• Encourage your team to be the best they can be.
• Operate effectively alongside the product teams to ensure we know what we are building and to what time frame.
• Be an advocate of the DevOps model, you build it and you own it.
• Recognize problems; then driving the implementation of solutions.
• Be a part of the decision making when we purchase new tools and services.
• Hire successful engineers into your team.
• Estimate new technologies and select those best suited to solve the problems at hand.
• Support the best practice of knowledge sharing across teams.

Job Requirements:

• Effective experience in dealing with Java 8+.
• Proficient experience in Relational databases (Postgres / MySQL).
• Expert knowledge of production use of Docker and AWS (ECS, Lambda, RDS).
• Deep knowledge of Microservices, serverless architectures and RESTful API design.
• Demonstrated understanding of DevOps, Agile, CI/CD and TDD / BDD.
• Solid commercial acumen and ability to apply solid commercial judgment.
• Sound relationship building/development skills (internal and external).
