That’s why retailers need to be aware of how much their expected shoppers would spend on holiday gifts and when will they do so.
The vast majority of US shoppers (73.5%) planned to spend on holiday gifts nearly the same they did last year, while only 14.6% planned to spend more. Moreover, 30% of respondents planned to spend from $250 to $499 and 26.7% planned to spend from $500 to $1000.
In terms of the period, US shoppers do most of their holiday shopping before Thanksgiving weekend (35.5%) and during the month of December (32%) for the Christmas.
