As lockdowns and other restrictions help curb rising infection rates across Europe, the UK’s vaccine rollout kicked off about 2 weeks ago. Also, support generally runs high, but skepticism and frustration are building within certain attitudinal and behavioral groups.
According to the December vibe check insights, there has been a general shift in public mood in the UK. Back in April, at the start of the very first lockdown, a percentage of 56% was actually optimistic te UK would overcome the outbreak. However, in July, this dropped to 40%.
The chart below shows the percentage of UK consumers who are in favor\against the restrictions and feel the following about them.
While people are understandably fatigued and in some instances, frustrated, they usually remain supportive of strict public health measures to fight the virus. Debate on the subject has become very polarized in current weeks, only on the population level, acceptance prevails.
