The Internet Society is an independent international nonprofit that engages in a wide spectrum of internet issues, including policy, governance, technology, and development. It sets public policies that enable open access; facilitates the open development of standards, protocols, administration, and the technical infrastructure of the internet; and organizes events and opportunities that bring people together to share insights and opinions.
The organization provides information and educational opportunities that include training workshops in developing countries, facilitates leadership programs that include the cultivation of Next Generation Leaders and Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Ambassadors, and supports local Chapters that serve the needs of the growing global internet community.
