Egypt is the largest Arab country and it is one of the most developed internet markets in the region. Hence, it worth keeping an eye on some of the basic connectivity indicators as briefed in this report by the Egyptian Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MCIT) for December 2016.
- The number of mobile subscriptions in Egypt totaled 97.79 million subscriptions with a penetration rate of 109.73% to the total population.
- Egyptian mobile internet users reached 28.652 million.
- USB modem subscriptions decreased in 3.28 million after 3.30 million in Nov. 2016, and in comparison to 3.82 million in Dec. 2015.
- ADSL internet subscriptions reached 4.44 m in Dec. 2016, with the most ADSL subscriptions located in Greater Cairo.
