LinkedIn Develops New Features for Posting

Yesterday, LinkedIn announced on their official blog that LinkedIn’s members, can now enjoy new added features when it comes to posting on LinkedIn feed.

As the goal is to make it more user-friendly, new updates are launched including “Video Captions”, “Share Articles Quotes”, and “See Translations”.

“Sharing ideas, asking for advice, or showing what you do for work are just a few ways our members start conversations on LinkedIn every day. Having these types of conversations with your professional community is one of the best ways to give and get help, make new connections, and strengthen existing ones. We want to make this as easy as possible to help you reach other professionals who have similar interests.”

Video Captions Feature:

According to this new feature, all LinkedIn members have the ability to add closed captioning to their videos when posting from the desktop. It also enables a better viewing experience and makes videos accessible to everyone. These are the needed steps to add video captions:

  • Click the video icon in the share box on the desktop to select the video you want to share.
  • Once the preview shows up, click the edit icon on the top right to see the video settings and then click “select file” to attach the associated SRT (SubRip Subtitle) file. You’re ready to post from there!

Share Articles Quotes Feature:

This new tool makes it possible to highlight and share any Quotes, that LinkedIn’s member wants to talk to others about or give his perspective, with his network in the feed.

See translations feature:

On June 28th, LinkedIn announced the launch of “see translations button” on its platform, in order to make it easy for its members to connect with others in a different language.

This new feature was available for mobile only, but now LinkedIn has made it available for desktop and mobile.

“We know many of you have connections from other countries who speak different languages, and you want to stay in the loop on what they’re doing and talking about.”

Save posts as drafts feature: This tool enables users to save their posts as drafts and come back to it at any time later to share it. They just need to tap on the X at the top left of their post to see the option to save.

“We get it: interruptions can often come up or you sometimes need a bit more time to finesse your post before sharing.”

“Me” feature: LinkedIn “Me” feature is a shortcut on the desktop, that enables users to access all of the posts they’ve shared, articles you’ve written, or videos you’ve recorded on LinkedIn.
