Google’s Re-branding The Top Contributor Program as Google’s Product Experts Program

There is no doubt that the review of users’ feedback has become a cornerstone in the construction and development of any online service, so we note that many providers of online products, especially social networking platforms began to take into account the importance of focus on the of users’ feedback and experience.

Accordingly, a few days ago, Google announced on its official WebMaster blog that they are re-branding and relaunching their product “Top Contributor program” as “Google’s Product Experts program”. Google also mentions that they will make some new changes to their badges in the forums, in order to enable users to recognize who Google’s most passionate and dedicated Product Experts are, the badge types are:

Google's Re-branding The Top Contributor Program as Google’s Product Experts Program 3 | Digital Marketing Community   Platinum Product Expert: Seasoned members who contribute beyond providing help through mentoring, creating content, and more.

Google's Re-branding The Top Contributor Program as Google’s Product Experts Program 4 | Digital Marketing Community   Product Expert Alumni: Past members who are no longer active, but were previously recognized for their helpfulness.

 

It should be mentioned that Google’s Top Contributors (tc) is one of Google’s most active and helpful members on its forums, that’s gathering a great set of Top Contributors who share their knowledge in Google Help Forums and Help on Social and have helped countless people get answers to their Google questions. Now, Google’s Product Experts Program is a new product that’s including a number of Product Experts, users who are passionate about Google products and enjoy helping other thousands of people every year, in addition to helping Google by giving feedback on the tools Google had launched, like the Search Console, by surfacing questions they think Google should answer better, etc…

As explained by Google:

“Obtaining feedback from our users is one of Google’s core values, and Product Experts often have a great understanding of what affects a lot of our users.”

  • How can experts participate in Google’s Product Experts Program?

As explained by Google on its official product blog, there are some tips that should be followed to participate in Google’s Product Experts Program, such as:

  1. Sign up: Get started by signing up with your Google Account.
  2. Help out: Get noticed by helping others in the Google Help Communities or through Help on Social.
  3. Earn perks: Achieve status by helping others and become eligible for program perks.

 

In the announcement, Google also points out that Product Experts earn special badges and perks by helping others make the most out of Google’s Products, as showcased in the previous tips.
