Recently, Facebook led a Community Boost tour, in order to help people and small businesses across the nation to gain effective digital marketing skills, which enables them to capitalize on their businesses. Back in June, Facebook announced on its official blog its initiative to train 1 million US business owners and equip more people with the digital skills they need to perform competently in today’s workplace.

Moreover, just a day ago, Facebook held the “Boost Your Business event“, that’s introducing Facebook experts and local businesses who will talk about the most up-to-date tools, insights, and best practices for achieving success on Facebook and Instagram. This event took place on September 24, 2018, at Fair Market (1100 E 5th St), Austin, USA, for free.

Additionally, in the “Boost Your Business event”, Facebook announced that they have partnered with Austin Community College (ACC) -which will be the tenth institution of higher education in the country to offer this program- , in order to introduce a new Digital Marketing Certificate Program, which enables the people of Austin to have access to training and resources long after today’s Boost Your Business event ends.

As reported by Facebook, this program will bring courses in digital marketing and social media strategy for enrolled students. Also, Facebook points out that recent researches found 82% of small and medium-sized businesses on Facebook in Texas consider an individual’s digital and social media skills important when hiring new employees, that’s why Facebook decided to create this program to provide individuals and small businesses with the required digital skills.

As explained by Facebook:

“We hope that this program will offer ACC graduates an added boost to compete for jobs in the digital economy, and contribute to the already flourishing technology community in Austin.”

In the same official blog post, Facebook also announced that they are partnering with the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, and the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce to participate with Facebook in organizing the Boost Your Business event, aiming to promote economic success in Austin.
