Software Engineering Manager

Gentherm is looking for a Software Engineering Manager in Northville, United States.  If you meet the requirements below, you will be eligible to apply via Digital Marketing Community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize tools, e.g. CANalyzer v.s. CANoe, JAZZ CCM/QM etc.
  • Test scope e.g. definition of the combination of testing stages e.g. unit, function, grey box/black box, regression, stress, integration test etc.
  • Support traceability from requirements through verification.
  • Lead changes in requirements and defect status.
  • Design, organize, support, assign and lead the SW Verification team personnel to meet the goals and objectives of all projects in accordance with company policies.
  • Creat and maintain project specific test plan in an appropriate test management tool.
  • Oversee and guide the team to complete all assignments on time, to required quality standards.
  • Participate in the clarification of software requirements to ensure testability and comprehension.
  • Maintain test environment including electrical fixtures, test and measurement equipment.
  • Assure defects are managed correctly through complete lifecycle.
  • Secure test activities are properly reviewed, actions documented, that progress is audited, kept on track, and complies with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Maintain SW Department and Project Managers with verification test project status information on a regular basis.
  • Promote SW release process with auditable documented test assessments and release package confirmation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or closely related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in verification of automotive embedded software products. Exposure to software development experience preferred.
  • Effective experience in managing a team preferred.
  • Proven track record in the verification of embedded software products for the automotive application.
  • Familiarity with JAZZ (DOORS, QM, CCM) or PTC Integrity Windchill or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated understanding of verification of automotive network communications e.g. CAN and LIN.
  • Proficient experience in Vector tools (CANalyzer, CANoe, CANdiva etc) for software test and test configuration.
  • Expert knowledge of automotive verification and design process models such as Automotive SPICE and ISO26262.
  • Deep knowledge of test automation techniques and tools.
  • Proven experience with test programming tools and languages such as CAPL, C++, C#.
  • Ability to read hardware schematics and design appropriate electrical test configurations.
  • Ability to use advanced features of engineering test tools such as programmers, scopes, power supplies. Ability to configure test setups in automated and semi-automated configurations using scripting languages.
