Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the management, engagement and content creation of the University’s presence on social media platforms including, but not limited to (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, Instagram, Storify and Tumblr).
- Develop unique multimedia and content for social media outlets including executing contests, campaigns, curation of user-generation content and real-time coverage.
- Monitor UD social media accounts, compiling reports on major brand moments/events and advising on best practices and future opportunities from those insights.
- Direct inquiries to the appropriate unit and provide answers/guidance to audience posts and questions, specifically but not limited to (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter).
- Prioritize and schedule posts for shared central accounts across various departments and units.
- Create social media campaigns and integrate social media into existing events.
- Coordinate and staff OCM-sponsored social media events.
- Research emerging platforms to advise the digital content manager on potential strategies and best practices for implementation University-wide.
- Execute paid social media campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Manage the planning calendar and implementation of student achievement announcements via (Merit software).
- Ensure that all materials meet established University standards of appearance, content and style.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing or related field.
- At least 2 years of working experience as a social media specialist.
- Effective experience in utilizing social media management tools (preferably Hootsuite Enterprise).
- Deep understanding of working with a variety of social media platforms as well as other digital creation and distribution tools that go beyond social media.
- Deep working experience in using MS Office.
- Solid knowledge of University policies and procedures and faculty resources preferred.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines with short turnarounds in a fast-paced working environment.
